OK, so I know that I have been MIA for the last couple of weeks and I apologize. I have been EXTREMELY busy. So here are a few things that probably deserved their own post that I am just now getting around to it.
Confirmed - So the biatch confirmed her pregnancy. Yipee. And she made some callous remark about the turkey baster working so well. Several times. (Note: She and her husband did NOT do IUI). I asked her if they had used ART and she said "No, we just tried naturally and assumed that if it didn't work, it wasn't meant to be." Now you ALL know why I hate this woman. And THAT is all I have to say about that.
OFFICIALLY LISTED - Our house is officially on the market. We chose our realtor because of the connections she seems to have rather than her technological savy. I am not sure if we made the right decision, but I guess only time will tell. And we have settled in for the long run. We hope that it sells quickly, but the longer it takes to sell, the better our finances will look. So, now we wait. And make our damned beds every morning. Yuck. (And as I typed, someone drove down our butt ass long driveway to see what our house looks like...Looky-loos trying to see what we have for sale back here? Let me tell you, when you live in BFE and someone drives up to your house at 10 at night, your heart skips a few beats...)
House Guests - My In-Laws were here (Father In Law, Mother In Law, and 90 year old Grandfather In Law) for an entire week. It was a stressful time (putting our house on the market, having the picgtures taken for the listing, rough weeks at work for both Derek and I, etc), so I hope I was hospitable enough. But it was really great to see them, even if we didn't spend a lot of time visiting,
The Basement Work Begins - Derek removed the stained carpet and the short baseboards last weekend. As I mentioned, my In-Laws were here. The migrant workers from Michigan. Let me tell you - those people worked hard. They painted our entire basement. Baseboards, door frames, walls and everything. Touch up painting still needs to be done and I have to paint the corners and edging in the stairwell (which I am absolutely dreading), but they got everything else painted. I am amazed. On Friday, I started laying the flooring with some help from my FIL (who has had knee surgery on both knees). Derek had a terrible week at work and ended up having to work a good part of the day on both Saturday and Sunday. So, instead of Derek and I getting all of the flooring and the new baseboards knocked out this weekend as we had planned, about 2/3 of the flooring is done. I have busted my ass for the last 3 days and muscles I didn't even know I had are hurting. I have a huge blister on one of my feet, I think I walked a million miles, and a heat rash under my bbs. But it is looking great.
Awards - During my absense, I noticed I had gotten a couple of awards I need to accept and follow the rules for. I have not forgotten. I will try to get to them soon.
Other BIG HUGE News - We got some other big news last week. But this news deserves a post all of its own. And I will try to give it the time it deserves tomorrow or Tuesday (we have an open house on Tuesday and I don't know how much free time I will have tomorrow night...)
Peace Out. I am taking my happy ass to bed soon.
